Sophia Sparks, LSW, LPC

Licensed Social Worker, Licensed

Professional Counselor & Owner

"I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the Ohio State University in 1989 in the field of Social Work.  I then went on to obtain my Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Dayton.   I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Social Worker by the State of Ohio. I am also certified as a Neurofeedback Trainer.

I have worked in the field of counseling since 1989 providing individual, marriage and family counseling to people of diverse backgrounds in a variety of settings. I enjoy working with people assisting them on their journey.  My hope is to help them find balance and meaning in their lives as they resolve issues that get in the way.  My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where we can explore together one’s feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.   Counseling is a place where one can evaluate, set goals, and make changes that lead to more fulfillment. I look forward to being a support and an encouragement on your journey."

Ana E. Baratta Posada, PhD, LPC

Professional Counselor

I became licensed as a Psychologist in El Salvador (1998). In the States, I furthered my education by earning a Master’s and PhD degrees in Educational Psychology with a minor in Counseling from Indiana University (2012). I also earned a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Union Institute and University (2018).

I have worked with individuals experiencing career changes, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. I also have experience in the educational sector working with college students by helping them navigate their transition through college.

Our life experiences play a role in how we deal with current situations. Sometimes what we do to deal with stress, transitions and emotional pain is not working for us any more. I can help you to find new ways to thrive through life challenges. I believe that everyone has the ability to learn, grow and be resilient when facing difficult situations. I focus on creating a warm and empathetic relationship with my clients that help them learn about themselves and promote growth. I strive for making clients feel heard and understood by creating opportunities for them to explore feelings, behaviors, thoughts in a safe manner.
